VIBURNUM rhytidophyllum

A large, fast-growing, handsome, evergreen shrub with large, elliptic to oblong, attractively corrugated leaves, dark glossy green above,densely grey-tomentose beneath. Small, creamy-white flowers are produced in stout, tomentose cymes during May. Fruits oval, red, finally black. It is necessary to plant 2 or more in close proximity, as single specimens do not fruit freely. A magnificent foliage shrub and a splendid chalk plant, creating the effect of a large-leaved Rhododendron.(6)
